It is situated on the A47 road, about 15 miles (25 km) west of the city of Norwich and 25 miles (40 km) east of King's Lynn. The civil parish has an area of 21.51 km (8.31 sq mi) and in the 2001 census had a population of 15,659 in 6,941 households, the population at the 2011 Census increasing to 18,609. For the purposes of local government, Dereham falls within, and is the centre of administration for, the district of Breckland. The town should not be confused with the Norfolk village of West Dereham, which lies about 25 miles (40 km) away.

Sited in a modest village with view over a vast common, on one of the B-roads across the county from Lynn to north of Norwich. With a french chef, daily changes of local produce, sensible pricing, well-tuned local ownership .... has become a really good mid-Norfolk stop. Excellent lunches, and very busy every evening with bar meals or restaurant.

Stopped for lunch. For me it was the first time. The owner was very kind.( I think his name was Arturo). He explained the menu very well. My husband and I ordered clams cooked with olive oil, garlic and coriander, which were very nicely cooked. For the main course we ordered Bacalhau a la casa ( cod baked with potatoes, onions & peppers). We really enjoyed it. We wanted to try some dessert, but the cod filled us up. The express coffee was lovely. It was years I wanted a nice express coffee like the Italians have it. Normally some places make you a long coffee that is disgusting. Compliments to the chef. Definitely going back again!! Thank you Arturo for a lovely meal.

Called in tired and hungry after a 350 mile journey through the night.All I can say is, this was the biggest all day breakfast ever! It was delicious. Couldnât eat it all, but would have loved to.Worth far more than the £4.75 they charge.Wonât be back anytime soon guys cause we are on vacation.
