We've been eating at P&S for over 5 years now, and it has had a little ebb and flow, but has consistently remained a favorite place in Asbury Park. The bar scene is awesome; bartenders are knowledgeable and conversant and eager to keep you around and mix great drinks. You can get the entire menu at the bar, and that keeps it packed until late. The back bar is a hidden little deal, and often packed as well, but closer to the music (live music on occasion on the weekends). We love to eat in the restaurant, and it has been a pretty traditional go-to place when we have guests in town. Although the menu pops around a bit, it stays true to the French bistro feel, with some great and very reliable constant features. Wine list is quite good, although a little narrow of focus. Prices are quite reasonable for a good and dependable restaurant in a town that values restaurants. We will keep returning.

Asbury Festhalle & Biergarten brings an authentic biergarten experience to Asbury Park, a tradition that Europeans have enjoyed for centuries - communal tables where friends and strangers mingle in a lively, friendly atmosphere, energized by a regular sch
I struggle with the rating as the food was really great. As a German I can say that it was very authentic. The Wiener Schnitzel was tender with a crispy breading. Potato salad and cucumber salad with mustard dressing tasted like home. The WeiÃwurst was like in Bavaria. Now here is what it spoiled it. The service was one of the worst I ever had. Nobody seated us as we entered. It took an eternity before we were asked for our order. They brought the wrong beer and instead of simply apologizing tried to defend themselves. After we got our food we never ever had the chance to oder another drink or were not offered any dessert. I hate eating on such a hostile atmosphere!

There is something for everyone on this menu. We were told that they have a new chef and he really came through for us. The Duck was excellent, I'm told the Scallops and Fish Special were great as well. If you tried this before and were disappointed, give it another go. You won't be disappointed!
