We visited Gordon's Restaurant and Hotel in 2014 and gave it a five-star review then and we are very pleased to be able to do the same five years' later. The cooking is sublime, incredibly good value (certainly compared to London prices), and the service is friendly and timely. Each course was perfect in quality, quantity and execution (although a little bit more carrot puree with the lamb might not have gone wrong!).We stayed in the Thistle room, and although Gordon's is really about the food, the room was very well decorated, comfortable and had plenty of space. Better WiFi would have been appreciated but the weather was appalling which might have resulted in poorer service than normal. All in all, thoroughly recommended and restored my faith in the term "fine dining".

We where very disappointed with the place, we had a table which was clearly meant for one, we where given a drinks menu which was a piece of paper in a polly pocket ,order our drinks never got them. No menu available just the meze, food was reasonable but will not be back.Hi thank you for visiting and supporting our small business. I am upset that you didnt enjoy your experience, we have so many happy customers so this surprises me.. I would just like to highlight a few things,You were moved to a bigger table once one became available. You did get your drinks, they took a bit longer because the pub was busy and they were making drinks for a table of 9 that was in, your drinks took approx 8minutes to arrive, but they arrived before your food. The drinks menu is in a polly pocket that is correct, and that is because we are finishing off our new drinks/wine menu which will be available soon.It was a special meze weekend, in which the meze was only available. In which you recieved a range of foods from the menu, so that customers can try a bit of everything. The weekend was promoted as a special weekend meze for the last month, sorry if you weren't notified. I'd be more than happy to refund the price of your food if you can pop in.

Visiting my daughter, I found this restaurant on trip advisor. Food was excellent, lasagne, lobster ravioli, carbonara etc. All very good. Nice service too. They donât have a drinks licence so you can take your own and pay a small corkage. Highly recommended!
