We have been in Akron for 28 years and just recently discovered Fred's diner. It is just what you expect a diner not made out of an old rail car to look like--a little dive hole in the wall with possibly the best breakfast in Akron. The service is usually quick and efficient and their motto says it all: eat, pay, get out. You never have to wait long for your food and if you leave hungry it must be something you did. I have tried a couple of their sandwiches(the cuy-a-hoagy is really good) but I always come back to the omelets or the chicken fried steak. Cannot not recommend this little gem highly enough. Once you try it I guarantee you'll go back,
This breakfast//lunch place has relocated to a new facility and seems to have upgraded its offerings. The present location is in an all new building and is especially clean, well lighted and airy. The management seems to be efficient with waits for seating done in a well-ordered manner. Although the fare has always been reasonably good, the new location really seems to be much more attractive. The wait staff is all young and inexperienced, but they seem personable and anxious to please. We will certainly return.

We stayed over in Cuyahoga after a concert and stopped at Flury's for breakfast the following morning. I ordered the breakfast sandwich with sausage + bacon and hashbrowns. The food was great and the waitstaff were prompt and attentive. If you're looking for a no frills place with basic but seriously tasty offerings, this is it.
