First trip ever and Iâve lived within 5 miles for 20 years Quick and tasty food and a really good cup of tea (very unAmerican I realise) - way better than a fast food joint in any of the services and the kids adore the milkshakes and the slightly retro feel. Weâll be back.

We always enjoy coming up the A1 as an excuse to stop off at one of the OK Diners. Food is reasonably priced and reasonably nice, and more and better variety than any of the fast food places in service stations. Milkshakes are a particular favourite since they are so huge they are big enough for our family of three to share just one between us!Service was fine. They have high chairs and a changing table. Wheelchair users may struggle to get around the narrow central aisle. Vegetarian options are limited (veggie breakfast, bean burger, burrito, nachos). Vegans will struggle - hey, it's an American diner.

Diner on Northbound A1 near Peterborough
Stopped off at this diner on the way to London. I normally go to the one closer to home at Cromwell and the team there are fantastic! There were 5 tables in use at the diner, we waited 15 minutes to be greeted by someone. In the end we seated ourselves. The manager, Chris looked flustered and barked â find your own seat thenâ. Waited another 5 minutes for a menu. Finally ordered, in between Chris eating his lunch at another table, then never saw anyone again to add on a milkshake. When we were chucked our food we asked Chris if we could have a milkshake to go and weâre told â wait and Iâll come back to youâ. He never did. Waited 20 minutes for someone to give us the bill in the end we stood up and made it look as if we were going. Chris slapped the receipt down and walked off again! When asked how we would make a complaint Chris told me he wasnât sure then said he could write it down. When challenged about his standard of service Chris told me that it was busy (now only three tables including ourselves in the diner). I would hate to see what it is like in there when itâs packed. Itâs a shame because Iâve had great experiences in the Cromwell branch, Laura and her team and great. I will never go to Chris branch again hopefully someone from head office will realise how poor his standards are and how vile the service is.
