Our last day in Spain and it was raining. This little restaurant, the owner and his family plus the superb food really made our day. A really warm welcome, they went out of their way to explain the menu, considering we do not speak Spanish and they did not speak English. When we did not understand a dish the owner went into the kitchen and came out with a taster of the dish: squid ink paella, which we tasted and had to order as delicious. This was just the starter and was followed by equally delicious fish omelette and then I had the rice pudding. Oh, my goodness, the best I have ever tasted. Full of traditional charm and so friendly, we so enjoyed this lunch time experience. So wish we could have spoken the language as we would have loved to pass on our unanimous praise. Gracias, moy, moy bien!!!

Staying in hotel for 2 nights and couldn't get over the service and value for money.3 course meal including excellent bottle of house Rioja for 16 euro per head.This included goats cheese starter, fillet steak main (well done in Spain is rare at home, which suited me but may be difficult for those sensitive to blood on their plates), chocolate cake for dessert.I would recommend this to anyone. Staff couldn't be more helpful and friendly.One thing it doesn't open until 8pm which may be a little late for some.

My wife and I enjoyed a really good lunch at La Porta. The food and wine quality was excellent. The staff were friendly and spoke good English. We would highly recommend this restaurant.
