The population was 21,874 at the 2010 census. Rosemount was established as a township in 1858 and incorporated as a city in 1972, encompassing the old village of Rosemount and Pine Bend. According to the city's website, there was some debate over whether to name the township Saratoga or Rosemount, with the latter finally being chosen to reflect the town's Irish heritage, and to remain in keeping with the name given to the post office a few years earlier. Rosemount is home to the Pine Bend Refinery, which is the largest oil refinery in Minnesota and the 14th-largest in the United States. Rosemount was also home to a military gunpowder plant in the 1940s called Gopher Ordnance Works. Now, all that remains are the walls.

Every time I come to this place, I'm amazed it's not busier. Fantastic breakfast and burgers. 50's style regalia as far as the eye can see. My favorite burger is the Elvis burger. Chunky Peanut butter, bacon, pickles, mayo and pepperjack cheese. Sounds a bit like a weird combo but you absolutely have to try it. Fries are great too!Malts and shakes are made fresh with the real stuff. (I got a peanut butter chocolate banana and it had chocolate syrup, scoops of peanut butter from the jar, and banana slices).Definitely a place that should have more tenants. Fast service if you do go in for that reason.

Nice, bright diner-style restaurant good for families. All meals were quite good. One odd thing, however. The grandson had a turkey on toast which came on a bare plate with his fries. I had the special of country fried steak, mashed potatoes and sausage gravy. The country fried steak and potatoes were on a plate covered with paper. Seems it should have been the other way round.Good service and excellent strawberry milkshakes!Thank you! We really appreciate your generosity. It's always nice to know that we are moving in the right direction.

Best diner food Iâve had since Iâve moved here! Try it out, fast and polite service and great food! I go to diners for breakfast food but my friend got a chicken burger on a pretzel bun that was delicious as well!
