Restaurant and brasserie french kitchen and regional cooking english spoken home made kitchen open for lunch from tuesday to friday and for dinner from monday to saturday
We stopped into this place for it's designation as ''Ch'ti'', the colloquialism for the language and culture of Picardy/Pas Nord. This small place is like dining in someone's front room. We loved the small bar area, the intimate tables and the exceptionally-paced service: one person for the room and no-one left waiting.I am now more familiar with the food of the Lille/Nord region: hearty fare, winter flavors, fricassee and stews still to the fore in the chilly March weather.I began with superb Gravlax, turkey fricassee as main with lots of vegetables and cooked - lean and tasty - in a wonderful oil base. Nothing fancy: honest food and honest presentation. There is an ample wine list (perhaps 6 each red and white) along with option for carafe, glass and beers on tap.Altogether informal and well-presented, we greatly enjoyed the courtesy and charm of this family-run place.Thank you very much.We will be happy to see you another time. Greatings
