Wine and food are a pleasure and not a fashion
This small and wonderful place exists in the countryside of central Tuscany. The owners, Claudio and Luisa, both have an incredible knowledge of local wines and foods. They are willing to prepare small meals for bikers, dinners for families and late night cheese and meat platters for those wanting to experience small vintner Italian wines. Make sure if you are anywhere nearby to visit this lovely Cantuccio. For us it was a pleasure to have had you in our vineria

ENGSmall hotel and family run Restaurant with typical Tuscan cuisine and two large rooms for any event. Parking spaces available and outdoor buffet.ITALocanda-trattoria a livello familiare con cucina tipica toscana e due ampi saloni per qualsiasi evento.
We were driving towards Arezzo on a Sunday early afternoon hoping we would make it there in time to find a restaurant to have lunch when we passed Il Cacciatore on the Via Nazionale. It was PACKED with cars, all Italian license plates. A great recommendation, so we decided to eat here. The interior is very simple - basically a large room with white walls... But the food is hearty and inexpensive. Bascially, the server asks if you want antipasti (say yes). These are crostini with meat, tomato, snail, etc. plus some sliced ham and sausage. Then she asks if you want a pasta or risotto (say yes). There was penne arabbiata, tagliatella bolognese, risotto porcini, etc.... Then if you are still hungry, the main course was a mix of grilled meats - all good. Includes some chicken, pork, sausage, even some bacon and liver and stuff like that. Even if you don't like some of these, there was so much that there was no way you could go away hungry. Then there is the dessert cart where you can take one or a mix of several - even things like vin santo and cantucci. We had a half-liter of open red wine (not bad) and mineral water and coffee and the price was â¬20 per person. THAT was the amazing part. It is probably necessary to speak some Italian (or at least understand a menu in Italian) since this is not a touristy place with menus in five langauges. The format maybe was typical for Sunday lunch - not sure about à la carte dining during the week. But it was packed with a very family atmosphere where everyone knew everyone else with kids and noise and commotion - that made the lunch all the more special. So eat some good home cooking like at grandma's and don't spend a fortune. We will make a side trip again the next time we are in the area.
