Hymie's is a classic "New York style" delicatessen with excellent food and great service. The waitstaff is very attentive. I had a pastrami reuben which is as good as I have ever had and certainly the largest. My wife had a chicken livers sandwich which was equally excellent. The sandwiches both came without extras such as French fries but, who cares, there was plenty to eat. The place was fun, the food was great. It was well worth the visit.

Katz, a decent local Deli in Bala Cynwyd. Katzâs offers a very large menu, traditional deli fare to burgers, including the conventional pastrami and corned beef specialty deli sandwiches. All are very good. Itâs also a good option for breakfast. In summary; Katz is a hybrid combination of a Deli & Diner. This is not an authentic Jewish Deli like Hymies located a few miles away in Narberth or many other options located nearby in Philly where they cure the meats on site but, itâs a good well rounded restaurant.

Iâm not going to say much about this one. But, it sure isnât Hymies (an amazing deli across the street). The service was dire, rude and she missed two of my order requests with attitude. The pastrami, a small portion for a deli, was over grilled almost bacon-like. Personally I prefer it steamed but hey⦠It was noon and it was empty, enough said.
