The restaurant of Chelyabinsk "Goat" is a restaurant of real Czech cuisine in the city of Chelyabinsk. A pleasant, unobtrusive interior, the special atmosphere of which is created by wooden benches and chairs, as well as amazing Czech music take us to old
It was not the first time we visited this restaurant while being in Chelyabinsk.First of all I want to mention one thing: As a travel agency we feel it is our obligation to the readers here as well as to our international clients to write a honest review. I am sure that the manager of this restaurant knows what I mean and why I mention that!Today we made the by far worst experience within the last couple of years when visiting a restaurant. After waiting for more than 1 hour for our order which was something very basic - a soup and spare ribs - we had to cancel the order. During that time there were no updated on the status of the order. After some 30 minutes we asked what had happened to the order and were told they were currently working on it. Another 30 minutes passed and, what should i say... nothing. No waitress showed up anymore - simply nothing. So we asked for the manager and the excuse was that they had a banquette that night and could not handle the banquette as well as the normal customers. I am sorry to say, but that is a pretty lame excuse. How many people were attending this banquette? Maybe 20. So they really wanted to use this as an excuse that they could not process our order.I feel sorry to say but in that case there are only two solutions. You either close the restaurant for regular customers (which would be laughable imho having in mind that 20 people attended this banquette) or you employ more people in the kitchen and for the service on such an evening. Simply not informing a customer that you can not handle the order of some soup and spare ribs within one hour is a no-go.Furthermore I came to the conclusion that the quality of food was going a bit downhill since our last visit during fall last year.Last but not least I want to make one thing pretty clear. As I see it tripadvisor is a source where people should get honest reviews about hotels, restaurants and destinations. There is no bargaining with us about any review we write!PS: You mention different kinds of steaks on your menu. When I wanted to order one nothing was available. No a single one which was mentioned in the menu. Why do you even list it? I mean I accept it when one or two varieties are not available but not when simply none can be ordered.

Seeing how the restaurant occupies the basement of a typical old Soviet apartment building, the fake stone facade, massive wooden doors, wrought iron accents, statue of what looks like Friar Tuck outside- all might seem cheesy... However, once you walked in you're greeted with.. quality. Yes, the interior is in a style of a medieval castle dining room, it is as well done as such a thing could be, and because there are no windows to connect you to the outside world- a certain cozy atmosphere is created. When we had a late lunch there, the place was nearly empty, so we had the waitresses attention all to ourselves. She was very helpful and courteous. The menu includes both Russian and European dishes. Everything we ordered, and whatever was recommended by our waitress- was delicious. Our bill for 2 main courses, 3 appetizers + a few beers came to around $100. Steep by local standards, but given the service, ambience, and quality of food- worth it.
