Reviews on Contemporary food in Urubamba, Cusco Region, Peru. Just its location—in the Sacred Valley of the Incas—makes Urubamba sound like a mystical, magical place. The snow covered Ch'iqun mountain stands proudly in the background of this Peruvian town that serves as a base for people who want to visit the famous ancient Incan ruins of Machu Picchu. Zip lines and horseback rides let you experience this valley in the Andes in wildly different ways.

Peruvian food restaurant with mediterranean fusion. Daily menus for lunch and dinner.
The Quinsa restaurant is run by chef Alfredo and his wife Pamela. It is in the same grounds as the Flying Dog Hostel in Urubamba. We ate there 4 nights in a row and could not fault it as Alfredo is an excellent chef. Entre, main course and two bite size courses and a glass of chicha for 25S was excellent value. It's also great after a days activity in the sacred valley not to have to walk very far for dinner.

Located in the heart of the Sacred Valley, Yanahuara. This restaurant is the perfect stop in the energetic journey of the Valley and a preamble to Machu Picchu, the miscegenation of the environment, architecture, art, customs and nature are reflected dire
We read wonderful reviews about the hotel and discounted the one poor review about the restaurant. Unfortunately this review was spot on. It is a very nice hotel with great staff BUT if you are in the habit of eating dinner you will pay prices equal to the most elegant restaurants in Lima, Arequipa, or Cusco and receive very, very poor food. We felt trapped and swindled since the hotel is in a very isolated area and there are no other choices. What a shame.Dear Roger B, when we appreciate your comment and assessment, we understand your situation and we can only tell you that we are working to improve and that in a future visit, you can truly value our service and food.

We definitely weren't disappointed. We had our lunch here on the way to Ollantaytambo. Buffet was full and everything was in orderly manner, menu were varying and vegetarian inclusive. The staff were alert and compliant so everything was a breeze, we were practically done in about 15 minutes considering the restaurant was full of tourists out & about for the tours. We had sometime to look around the property which was scenic as well (which place in Cusco isn't anyway?).
