We later discovered the restaurant was attached to the hotel where we staying (Ambassador), so easy walk home. Great salad bar to start. Bread and whipped butter. Cold beer and wine. I had the veal Cordon Bleu, my wife had the perch fritters. Both very nice. No room for dessert. Hello from LucerneThanks for the five Stars and full Points. Our 18 year old came up with this recommendation just based on its location (not far from station) and menu online. It far exceeded expectations. An intelligent and delectable menu. A restored Luzerner farm contains one of the areas finest gourmet restaurants. Regardless of the season there is always a very delicious and attractive menu available with or without the accompaniment of wine. 3, 4 or 5 course menus are always wonderfully prepared and exceed our expectations every visit, I personally think the Krone is the finest restaurant in our area and would recommend it to anyone. If you choose to dress elegantly or clean and casual you will feel comfortable without an overly sterile or claustrophobic atmosphere which often plagues upper gourmet establishments. Reservations may not always be required for a table but out of the 3 or 4 times we had tried to spontaneously get a seat we had been disappointed more than once, so i would call a few days in advance to insure a place if possible. You can expect the finest of fish dishes, excellent meat choices or vegetarian alternatives if desired. The wines are fantastic and with a glass accompanying each course i would suggest you take a taxi because they are very generous as well as delicious.
