Chris and his kitchen companion cooked us a delicious lunch consisting of a selection of amazing canapes followed by four more outstanding courses. Everything was fabulous. Amazing fresh flavours and use of local produce, including homegrown herbs. Highlights include a palette cleansing cocoa butter and herb truffle, blackcurrant and chamomile savoury meringues, a crab tian and a chocolate marquise for desert. His wife who served us was a delight to talk to. As well as set lunches and dinners they also serve soups, sandwiches and cakes at lunch.

Dinner tonight with family, great menu choice. Ordered Hunters Chicken, however waitress came out to say she refused to serve my dish and it would be a little later than the other diners meals-arrived 20 minutes later than the others. I was served what I can only describe as a seriously overcooked splodge on plate. Young waitress was apologetic however I think overall World Host Training seriously needs to be considered by management, Won’t return.I am sorry that you had a bad experience, however you only mention the one meal so thankfully the other three that you were served must have been enjoyed.I would like to clarify that the waitress was trying to explain to you that she couldn't serve the your dish from the kitchen with the other meals as she did not believe it was an acceptable standard to be served. Unfortunately due to the chicken being cooked fresh it takes 20 mins to be done. My apologies for the wait and that for whatever reason (which I am still trying to establish with the kitchen staff), the second dish served to you was just as bad. It most certainly is not of our usual standard and no excuse whatsoever for the poor dish can be given.Should you decide to give us another chance, I can assure you of a much better experience next time around.

We visited on a Friday for lunch. Nice to see plenty of tables occupied, a good sign. There is an attractive restaurant upstairs with good views over the surrounding countryside but as one of our group has limited mobility we ate downstairs where there are several tables. The food was very good, we had soups, sandwiches and sweets. The sweets were particularly good.. All the staff were very pleasant and helpful but at times service could have been slightly smoother. As the place is newly opened they may just need a bit more time to hone the way things are run. Will definitely visit again.
