Bearna (anglicized as Barna) is a coastal village in Connemara, west of Galway city in County Galway, Ireland, on the R336 regional road. Once a satellite of Galway city, the village is now rapidly becoming one of its suburbs. Officially, the village is regarded as Irish speaking and is therefore a constituent part of the regions of Ireland that make up the Gaeltacht. However, because of its absorption into the city, it has recently become a mainly English speaking village. Nonetheless, Irish is still the main language of its western and northern hinterland and the village has now effectively become the gateway to the largest Irish speaking region in the country

Busker Brownes Bar & Kirbys Restaurant is set in the heart of Galway Cityâs vibrant & chique Latin Quarter. Throughout history Busker Brownes has been a meeting place for the Tribes of Galway, a soldiers barracks, a Dominican convent and a rendezvous for
We were looking for lunch and had tried 3-4 other places who were all full and weâre thankful they were because we got an excellent meal and a great conversation. It was a chilly day and the staff came downstairs and out the fire just for us. The chowder was excellent as was my wifeâs spiced pumpkin soup. We also shared a vegetable bowl with grilled halloumi which was very impressive. Weâre glad we stopped in and would recommend it if youâre in town.Dear SergioG37,Thank-you for the kind words in your recent review! I am delighted that you enjoyed your visit to Busker Brownes and that the fire in The Slatehouse Bar was an added bonus! It is great to hear the possitive feedback regarding the Veggie & Halloumi bowl, it is a new addition to the menu; I will be sure to pass this on to the kitchen. We do hope to welcome you back again soon!Best,Evie Faulkner

Located in the historic Bridge Mills building, Il Vicolo is Galway's premiere destination for modern Italian dining. Come in and see the centuries old mill as you nibble on Beef Carpaccio or one of our homemade pastas. Or perhaps sit on Galway's only rive
Four of us had a really enjoyable meal here, having booked the day before after popping in for a drink on the terrace and checking out the menu.We were given a great table by an arched window. We then had a very good focaccia and olives as we looked at the menuThe menu has some great dishes and choosing was difficult. For starters we settled on scallops (perfectly cooked), mussels (succulent with a very rich, creamy sauce). Mains included one of the best pasta (cavatelli) dishes my wife and I had had for a very long time which came with a delicious ragu of two Italian sausages. One of our fellow dinners also had a very good gnocchi dish.Puds were, sadly, out of the question as we were so full given the previous two courses .An interesting and extensive Italian wine list too.Would definitely recommend Il Vicolo.

This is wonderful and friendly place for innovative food with a distinctly Galway feel. The beer and wine selection is carefully crafted and the cocktails are lovingly prepared. We especially enjoyed the clams and hot & sour soup. Staff is fun, neighborhood is great. You should definitely check it out.
