I always go on Trip Advisor to see where it is good to eat. We were in the mood for Chinese so after reading the reviews decided to try Chinatown Kitchen. We took it out but could have eaten there. The ribs were excellent - very tender and tasty. The food was hot but come in microwavable containers had it needed to be heated up. The restaurant itself is small but clean. It isn't anything fancy but I think it's more a takeout place than an eat-in place. We will definitely add this to the places we go!
Don't expect fine-dining experience or refined Chinese dishes here, but what China City offers--think of it as American/Cantonese street-food--is quite tasty. Stick to the basic: Dumplings, Lo Mein, Egg Foo Young, Black Bean Sauce--and you won't be disappointed. The few "Chef's Special" dishes that I have tried were rather disappointing. We usually have the food for take-out. The generous portion guarantees you will have it again for a second meal.
Where to eat Diner food in Monticello: The Best Restaurants and Bars
This is a rather small buffet restaurant. It was very noisy atmosphere at lunchtime and then quiet after the small crowd left. Some of the trays were nearly empty. What was worse some of the food was nearly cold. The wonton soup had three wontons on the bottom of the soup bin. The low price of $16 for two lunches fit the rather low quality. Weâve been to far worse Chinese buffets.
