The menu had lots of choices and the food was pretty good. I am a breakfast person but there weren't as many choices as I would have liked but it was good.

The Phoenix Hotel is a hotel in Sinkor just on Tubman Boulevard. On the ground floor of the hotel is a Chinese restaurant. Pros:The restaurant is run by mainland Chinese. They do speak fair English. But if you speak Mandarin (Putonghua), that will be an advantage. The main advantage of this is that means that you are definitely eating CHINESE food, cooked by CHINESE. Thus you know the food you are getting is authentic. We ordered the Prawns & Corn, Pan-fried noodles, Special Fried Rice (Beef, Chicken and Prawns) and the Bak Choy in garlic sauce. We found the food very tasty, fresh, and perfectly spiced. Not too much oil either. The food was affordable. For a party of 4, our bill came to about $60, which we thought was fair. Interestingly, the food has been slightly modified for local West African tastes. I found the fried rice spicier compared to Hong Kong or mainland Chinese restaurants, but it was still delicious. I highly recommend the Prawn & Shrimp. Service was good. There was only one waiter, a young chinese man. But he was friendly, enthusiastic and welcoming. In short, he helped us enjoy our meal there immensely. The chef was a small middle-aged Chinese woman who kept coming out of the kitchen to say hello. She seemed cheerful, bright and perky. A real pleasure to be around. Cons:The restaurant is located in Sinkor and you can see that the surrounding area is not completely safe. The hotel itself is surrounded by 10 foot high walls surrounded by barbed wire. Thus I would suggest using your NGO-government-sponsored driver, private car or other taxi to take you to the restaurant and back. Walking to the restaurant (especially at night) might not be the safest of options. However the location is quite easy to find. It's on Tubman Boulevard. In summary, the Phoenix hotel has a Chinese Restaurant serving CHINESE food. Run by CHINESE. The food is tasty, affordable, and authentic. If you are Chinese and miss Chinese food, I would recommend coming here. Just be ready to use your Mandarin (Putonghua).
