We came to the Dragon Lake as we thought it was a Chinese Restaurant we had eaten at a number of years ago however we arrived to find that it wasn't . However we decided to try it . We were pointed to a table and sat down by the front Window which has a view to the Lake entrance although you are at street level . We ordered a Bottle of Wine and both ordered Combination Dishes , mine was with Mushrooms , My Wife's was with Sweet & Sour Sauce and a small Fried Rice to Share . The Wine arrived immediately followed within a couple of Minutes by our Food ? Great service ??We began our Meals and immediately noticed the flavours or Lack of it . The Fried Rice was totally devoid of Taste . We improved it some what by adding some Soy Sauce .My Wife's Sweet & Sour was almost Tasteless and the Carrots & Brocolli were Raw.My Mushrooms were Chinese dried Mushrooms were reconstituted but they had not removed the excess water before cooking so they were full of water . My Carrots and Brocolli were also Raw . Also every thing had a strange taste (Stewed) like it had been heated in a Microwave . That would explain how the food was on the Table within a couple of Minutes of ordering it. It could not have been cooked fresh .We did eat some of it but we both left a large portion each . The Waitress when she removed our Dishes did not ask us if we had enjoyed our Meals , It was obvious we had Not. The Prices are Not Cheap and If you want a Good Chinese go to the RSL Club .We will Not be Back

I had the Char Kwai Teow (known here as Fried Kwai Teow). The type of noodle used for this dish is a large flat noodle which must be washed and separated as part of the preparation, prior to cooking. The noodles had not been separated properly, so stuck together a bit and so was therefore a bit gluggy to eat. The sauce was also a little on the ordinary side. Nothing really 'stood out' for me. During my meal though (I ate in), a lady came in and ordered two Special Fried Rices and knew exactly how much she needed etc, so had obviously purchased from here before. So I'm guessing that should be ok.Upon looking around the front though it was quite dirty/ grimy. I understand that with what they are cooking there is always going to be a lot of grease, but I got there close to 2pm, when it wasn't so busy. The girl who was looking after the front was just standing around. Why could she have not grabbed some cleaner and a cloth and run over the fan or the picture on the wall etc and got rid of some grime. It really did turn me off.I won't be back, but the main reason, as usual for me is the fact that this is a cash only business. To me it just screams "rorting the tax system". They can pay staff cash in the hand and they can claim a business loss etc and not pay into our tax system like the average other Aussie battler, so no more than one visit from me.
I had a chicken parmigiana and my husband had steak both were very good. The menu is limited which is a bit disappointing especially if you don't want to eat Chinese food at a club. The staff were helpful and the place is pleasant to sit in.
