Things to do in Lake Wales
Good Chinese food is hard to find in Polk County, most are mediocre at best, a few being absolutely horrid. We've been to this little place next to Publix many times over the past year and have loved every single time we've gone. They make their own noodles and egg rolls on site, and they are incredible. They use fresh vegetables in their dishes which is, IMO, the only way to go. Anyone who uses canned should not be in this business. Their dishes are full of life, color, character and taste. My recent visit I had the Curry Beef, and man was it full of flavor ... just the right amount of spice to heat it up too! My wife had General Chao's Chicken and it was superbly fried and coated in that wonderful sweet/spicy sauce. Honestly we have not had a bad meal there yet and we've been well over a dozen times in the last year. And if you like spicy mustard, ask for the homemade mustard sauce for your egg rolls ... very good and VERY spicy. The place is small and usually not too busy, save for our latest visit (they were packed!) and the people who run it are extremely nice people. I'm not sure on exactly who owns/operates, but there are 2 people, a man and woman, who are there every time and do 99%+ of the work. It is tastefully decorated and very clean, this is by far our favorite Chinese restaurant in the area. Value is great as well, lunch specials tend to run about $5-$7 and they will certainly fill you up. Dinners are just as tasty and plentiful at comparable prices to others.

Tried the Lucky Wok for the first time and had the Chicken Chow Mein Lunch Special. It was like most quick service Chinese Food places; nothing to write home about.
Where to eat Grill food in Lake Wales: The Best Restaurants and Bars

I stopped in for lunch with my wife. We both agreed that the food wasn't the best we have had. It wasn't really terrible. Just average Chinese food. There was a good variety. It has sushi and a Mongolian grill. The sushi was like what you might get at publix. Nothing amazing. Some of the items I sampled were good and others I didn't finish. The fried items were a little oily for me. My wife and I both ate a variety of things and it was only $15 for both lunches. If you're really hungry and want to eat cheap go for it. If you want high end Asian food then choose somewhere else.
