It is part of the Buffalo–Niagara Falls Metropolitan Statistical Area. The village is named for Chauncey Mitchell Depew (1892), the president of the New York Central Railroad and later a US senator (1899-1911) who was one of the original investors who bought the land for the village which was incorporated in 1894.

We enjoy Chinese food a couple of times a month. But, have to travel far to get good quality, over a 30 minute drive. We don't like buffets. There is a take-out place near, but " cleanliness " is not their strong suit... We never noticed Great Wok, in a small plaza just 3 miles away. What a pleasant surprise ! It seems every Chinese take-out menu is 99% the same. At least you can compare exact dishes. Their steamed shrimp & vegetables was as good as the place we had been driving 30+ minutes to ! Huge shrimp. Same with their shrimp & snow pea pods. And, I enjoyed their brown sauce even more. They do have seating for 16 people max. Free hot tea. They had continuous take-out orders. And, we know why. We are very glad we finally found this place. Wish we had years ago. But, better late then never !

Whenever you stop into a place like this ( I would affectionately call it a "Hole in the Wall" you're really not expecting anything except asian cuisine, served cheaply that does what you want it to do.United China Restaurant does just that, it's just around the corner from my house and on the way home I stopped in because I had a hankering for Chinese Food.Ordered the Pork Lo Mein combination platter and after 10 minutes ( surprisingly enough !! :) ) it was brought to me on a large plate with the Egg Roll on the side.Quite tasty and in line with other places like this in the texture and quality of the food, I was impressed with how much pork they gave me, but was unimpressed with one of the worst Egg Roll's I have had in quite some time...as such they lost a starFriendly service, quick with plenty of seating ( although you may stick to the table ) and exactly what you expect with an establishment such as this.

I have gone here several times and never have been disappointed. The food is consistently good. I have tried several Chinese restaurants in the area and Green Jade is by far THE BEST! The won ton soup has light fluffy dumplings in it. Outstanding. Other restaurants don't even compare (THICK tasteless dumplings with 'fake' yellow broth). The steamed dumplings and sauce are great. Combination platters cannot be beat! This is THE best Chinese restaurant around! The only 'flaw' is that I cannot find a website for them. I believe there is a menu posted on Yelp. Seriously GOOD FOOD!
