Things to do in Waterbury
There Red Snapper Fish Stew, or Steamed Red Snapper are wonderful. It is half the price of any seafood restaurant. They also have traditional Jamaican. Dishes that are available vary day to day. Call a head to see if they have the Steamed Red Snapper. The place is small and the area is run down, however, I have never been hassled by anyone inside or outside of the restaurant. Most folks get the food to go. I like eating there myself. They have Jamaican soda. During the holidays they also have Jamaican Cheese which tastes great with the a sweet bread. The Cheese comes in a tin. I am originally from Wisconsin, and was not expecting much, until he had me try it. Other traditional dishes: Ox Tail Stew, Pig Tail with peas Stew, Chicken and Beef Curry, Jerk Chicken, various meat pies, fried chicken, fried red snapper, home made rolls and much more. For many things you can get a large, medium, or small order. For most people a large will feed two people. When I eat a large I am stuffed, and I weight 280pd. In the evening they have a dance club on the other half of the restaurant. During the warmer months they make they jerk chicken from scratch outside on a half oil drum grill.

My friend and I are always trying new places. Today we stopped into Josieâs Jamerican kitchen. It is located on Scott Road - in Waterbury Ct. - in a small plaza behind Ninos Restaurant. A hidden little gem of a restaurant. It is decorated in a Caribbean decor with a bar area and dining area. They have a regular menu and also do specials daily. They also have happy hour from 3:30 -6:30 with specials then as well. The cook and waitress/ hostess were both very pleasant as well We ordered curry shrimp and curry goat dinners. Both were served with rice n beans cabbage and carrots and plantains. They were delish!! We split the shrimp n goat so we could both try it. The goat melted in our mouths and the shrimp was cooked just right We were very pleased and have decided we will be back again soon. If you like Caribbean food. Go and check out Josieâs - you will so enjoy it -we did -and we will be back soon!
