Early on a weekday evening, the four of us found Cubanos practically deserted, which made conversation a breeze. The dining room is painted in warm, tropical colors with Cuban-themed paintings all about. The staff are exceptionally friendly. And the food, especially the pork dishes and ceviche, are excellent. We had a great time.

A hip, festive, forward-thinking Cuban restaurant, and the first of its kind in the D.C. metro area. Bright, open, and brimming with energy, EL SAPOâs whole storefront lifts to let the breeze in. The fresh mojitos, upbeat music and bold island food really
Place is hard to find as itâs entrance is really on Wayne Ave (not Fenton which is address of building El Sapo is in). But any frustrations melted with warm & cheerful welcome by host Reynald. Place is fantastic, vibrant & trendy. Food quality is good and comes in HUGE portions (everyone was carrying home leftovers in brown bags). Street food sampler was great way to try several appetizers and lechon asado was moist & tasty. Guava tilled pastry & churros were delicious but too much sugar sprinkled on it. Mojitos was great ! Recommended.

Negril has been around for years, but somehow I never tried it til today. Maria, the cashiwr who took my order (chicken curry and a ginger beer), had an uncommonly sweet smile. Thw food took about 10 minutes and was well worth the wait: tasty, rich, and satisfying, with beans and rice in a delicuous, gravy-based sauce. I'll be back.
