Find out what Cafe restaurants to try in Rapallo. A port city of about 30,000 on Italy’s Ligurian Coast, Rapallo lies on the Tigullio Gulf about 15 miles southeast of Genoa. The 16th-century Castello sul Mare (Castle-on-the-Sea) is Rapallo’s most prominent landmark, sitting as it does smack in the harbor. The sixth-century Basilica of Santi Gervasio e Protasio is also worth a visit. For a real treat, take the bus or the funivia (cable car) to the sanctuary of Nostra Signora di Montallegro (Our Lady of Montallegro), which offers stunning views.

Tossini came highly recommended by the owner of our rental apartment and what a find. The foccacia and cakes were to die for and Tossini became our regular morning stop for breakfast and our espresso fix.One day we even took home some of the prepared food on offer rather than eat out -all superb.Extremely busy and popular with locals ,always a good sign , great place to people watch a must if your in Rapallo.

Sabot Italia is an American bar in the heart of Santa Margherita Ligure since 1992, a wine bar with a wide range of fine wines.
Sabot serves excellent aperitivi from 5-9pm - generous portions of salami, cheese, olives, bread sticks and ham, all complementary with drinks in the evening. We'd just been in Portofino where the prices are so outrageous that we were thrilled to find Sabot serving equivalent drinks for less than half the price. The waiter was very friendly and refilled our food platter without asking. Great music there too.

With a view of the water in central Rapallo and lots of outside seating, this offers a great place to sit out and is often busy. Food/drink options seemed good value for money and my cocktail was delicious (if on the small side!) The bread on my very large bruschette tasted a little stale though and it had dried not fresh herbs - so otherwise rather tasteless.
