The name of this cafe is related to the tree below which it is located. Namely, the terrace of the café is located in the shade of the huge Kostela (Mediterranean hackberry). The crown of this wood makes a perfect shade that you can not imitate with any sunshade or tent.Because of this and because of the central position in the port of Makarska, this is a perfect caffe bar for drinking coffee and observing life in the city.

I decided to have dessert not at the restaurant that I was dinning, because I Fancy to have an ice cream. I stopped in here. Waited a lot to be served, the ice cream was okay and my coffee... but at the end I spent more time chafing the waitress for my bill and my ice cream. The place is just in front the seafront so the views are stunning in the terrace

It's a little hard to find given there are no street names in old town. Once you find it, it's literally hole in the wall that you enter and 'voila'. Fabulous seatings on the cliff. You just can't believe it. You take pictures to capture it's location and beauty but nothing does it justice. So why not five stars. Well, once you settle down you realize that they don't serve anything hot that's listed on the menu(I mean why list it if you can't offer it, including capacinno). And they don't take credit card. Other than that..lovely.
