So we were in the area for a wedding and just needed a quick break from everything and what else is better than a good kape from cafe de lipa. Yes the prices are mid range and higher, but staying break away from the sweet stuff and getting a good ole kape brwed etc from this place is sweet. Also they sale their coffee beans as well, the place is pretty big so a small meeting for work or get together with friends in a retro like place is nice

I was visiting Robinson’s Place and needed my caffine fix, eventually found Taza Mia coffee shop hidden away at the rear of the ground floor. Excellent coffee at reasonable prices make this a great choice.

I've been wanting to visit the place and alas I got to visit the place with my high school best friends. The place interior exceeded my expectations. The lighting gave the ambiance the dreamlike feel. Not too bright and not too dim. The wall decors are combination of dream catchers of various sizes and colors, some Bob Marley photos, an array of colorful ukuleles, and about a lot of things when combined make it the indie place that it is. There is a standing microphone in front as customers are welcome to sing their heart out during the open mike session. I would give two thumbs up for the place itself. It was what we came for. Now, let's talk about the food. I ordered Long-a-dream, their version of longsilog and lemongrass teapot. The tea was bland, and tasted like hot water with a drop of ginger. It was not like any of the lemon grass teas I had before in other restaurants. The longganisa, however is a different story. It was not the usually sausage like longganisa that we knew about. It was more of a ground pork flavored longganisa. it was delectable enough for me to be happy about it despite it's small serving. My friend Gerlie ordered chick-a-dream and it was just 2 small portions of chicken breast and doesn't look so mouth watering. She told us that it tasted just like her home cooked fried chicken. As for her guyabano teapot, it was almost plain water with a bit of sour aftertaste. As for Lhes, she had their version of tapsilog (I just forgot if it was pork or beef) and was just fine with her food and her lemonade was the best among the drinks we ordered. We ordered nachos which never came even after several follow ups and we ended up cancelling the order. The staff were nice and courteous but were not attentive and disorganized to think that the place was not really full when we were there. They had to go back to us several times because our original and revised orders were not available. We had to follow up on our nachos. We even asked if it was being prepared already and was told not. So we cancelled. Only to be served with nachos by another staff. We didn't take it anyway as we were about to leave.Though, I was disappointed with the food and the drinks, I still liked the place because it gave us the perfect place to just chat and laugh. It has some magic inside it that despite the not so good food experience, I didn't feel bad at all. I was able to remain calm and was relaxed the whole time. I was thinking that we should have tried the best sellers of the place and their coffee. I am saving that for the next time. And i hope my palate would be delighted by then. But for now it's 5* for the ambiance and 2* for the experience.
