We had been at a meeting in Highland Park for about 3 hours and had an hour for lunch before another meeting, we asked if anyone knew of a place nearby to eat at, the answerer was Dish Café.We walked down the block and found the Dish Café entered and were immediately seated. There are two dining areas, the first had counter service and booths, and the second room was all booths. We looked over the menu and everything looked good but we decided on eating off their all day breakfast menu.We both had eggs over with home fries and sausage with rye toast, the meal was delicious but the star of the meal was the home fries, brown and crispy on the outside and tender inside. The service was friendly and efficient and the price reasonable. We going to have to return and work our way through the regular menu.
I've been here a few times back when this was OQ Coffee, but it's still the same great coffee, just with a new name. The cold brew here is awesome, and their hot coffee and americano's are great too. It's a little expensive, but I would easily pick Penstock over Starbucks any day.

I did not intend to go here for lunch one Sunday afternoon. I really wanted some sushi at the Japanese restaurant next door. But the Japanese restaurant that advertised sushi on its door did not serve sushi on Sundays. Ha. So I ended up going into this tight little sandwich shop. The menu is overwhelming as they have so much stuff. I could not read it all and with the crowd and the tight space I just didnât want to. But they have a lot of bagels, eggy breakfast stuff, and regular sandwiches. They seemed willing to make whatever you wanted, even if it wasnât on the menu. I ordered the Buffalo tofu sandwich. This wasnât great. It was a slab of soft tofu, smothered with some sort of spicy buffalo wing sauce with lettuce and tomato. Not the best thing Iâve ever had and certainly nothing compared to Chloeâs vegan food in Manhattan. I suppose it is my faultâwhat did I expect from this anyway. I should have gotten a bagel at a bagel sandwich shop.
