A real French local restaurant - friendly welcome. Small menu, freshly cooked. Good reasonable wine list.Full house this evening so you probably need to book. All other tables occupied by locals. You will not be disappointed, but you may walk past not noticing. Search well - this place is very good.

Burgers' bar til 11h45am to 11h00pm to go or to stay last service to stay at 10h00pm
We visited this place for lunch on the way to Palais Longchamp having read the reviews on tripadvisor and craving a burger having had a reasonable amount of seafood on our trip. The waiter (assume he's the owner) was excellent and explained everything in English to us. Very friendly and singing along to the old school English playlist he had on in the background. Burgers are juicy and a range of sides to compliment available by choice. Great beer. Definitely a great option for lunch if you're in the area!

Pastis & Olives was recommended by our Airbnb host in Marseille and we were very pleased that we tried it. It was very hot in Marseille during our visit, so we chose to eat inside the spacious restaurant instead of at the outdoor cafe tables. My husband ordered the beef au poivre and the sauce was perfection! I ordered one of the daily specials which was a salad with chevre, tomatoes, arugula, frizzled onions, grapefruit, and cranberries. The produce was very fresh tasting and the chevre was good. We both ordered fruit-based desserts. The desserts were fairly simple preparations which, once again, really highlighted the quality of the ingredients. We were unexpectedly in Marseille on a different day and returned to Pastis & Olives. Both experiences were great. The service was friendly and they humored us in our attempts to order in French.
