We discovered this place by accident just walking down the street. The owners were so nice, friendly and helpful. The place is very popular so we were lucky to get a table. They cook all of the meats in a big, open fireplace and the restaurant has a wonderful ambiance. If we lived here, it would be one of our go to places-comfortable, cozy and a huge varied menu.

We paid a flying visit to St Brieuc over lunchtime and were depressed by the touristy resaurants in the small mediaeval area. We found Le Madure rather hidden away quite by chance. What a wonderful experience. A shady terrace, an interteasting good value lunch menu and attentive service. They were caring aboiut my husband's gluten allergy.

It's the Wandering Yank here. Mrs. Yank and I had had a verrrry long day touring Brittany and were ready for something simple, tasty and fast. We tried this out, and were very happy with the 2 steak frites we ordered, plus the delicious house wine.Service was excellent. Mrs. Yank had ordered her steak "seignant", or medium rare. Twice she sent it back to be cooked a bit more - not the fault of the kitchen - and I was impressed with the cheerfulness of the waiter. A bit off-topic comment: I know French wait staff has long had a bad reputation among visitors, and we had had some poor experiences on earlier visits years ago. But on this month-long visit, we were universally impressed with the positive attitudes of waiters and waitresses. Beats me what has changed, but it really added to our visit.2 thumbs up!
