We had chopped beef and sliced beef sandwiches- generous portions of meat and really good sauce. Potato salad was very good. Service is polite and friendly.

WOW. Great surprise in this sleepy little town. Warm skillet corn bread and bean soup while you wait for your order. Great chopped beef brisket. So good we got some to take away for dinner. Friendly staff and decent prices.

Van's Barbecue

Van's is in a new building, very spiffy! It's easy to get to, right off Interstate 37 at Exit 65. The wait staff is very friendly and very professional. We had ribs and brisket. The barbecue sauce is to die for; they should sell it by the bottle to their customers. I didn't see any place where it was available to the customers. The ribs were fall off the bone tender; the brisket was also very tender and well-trimmed. Drinks were icy cold; a major plus in Texas! Your food is served on butcher paper, which makes for an easy cleanup. Plastic flatware, like you would use for a picnic. You have to bathe after eating to clean up all the sauce! Dessert is Texan, of course, pecan pie a la mode! Highly recommended!!!
