We camped in the Trenton Area last weekend and we had dinner Saturday night at Thatchers. The food was very good and the portions were so generous that we should have ordered one plate and split it. We really enjoyed our meal and plan to make sure we eat here again the next time we are in the area.

Friendly people, but their actual bbq meat was just “okay.” The sides, however, they were awful. The tater tots were literally inedible. They looked and tasted like they had been sitting around for HOURS. They were greasy, soggy, and barely lukewarm. They went into the trash can. The corn on the cob was a soft, soggy, spongy frozen cobbette that was truly horrible. Iced tea was as weak as water. There really was not anything worth eating from this place. To serve sides like that to accompany their food was just shameful. And we spent $30 on food! Terrible waste of money.First I'd like to apologize for your experience. We slow smoke all of our meat. Our ribs and brisket fall apart. Our tots, fries, nuggets. .. Are air fried so we apologize you found them greasy. We don't use grease. Maybe you will have a chance to try us again and we can make your visit better.

Popped in to have lunch before heading to some waterfalls in Alabama. Ordered the coconut shrimp special, which was good. I sat outside on the deck to enjoy the beautiful weather. Unfortunately, the manure smell was sometimes quite cloying, especially when the wind blew in the right direction. I'm not sure if it was because I was alone or because a fairly sizable party sat right after me, but I felt pretty ignored after my food was brought out. I was finally offered a refill on my drink about 5 minutes after I finished my meal. Took another 5-10 minutes before I was given the check. Luckily I had nothing but time, so it wasn't a huge deal.
