Approximately 100km north-east of Cape Town, lying below the Kasteelberg is the historic wine estate of Allesverloren. The wine estate with its verdant sloping lawns, ancient oak trees and vineyards that creep up the protective Kasteelberg in the pictures

We took our friends to Allesverloren as they had not been there before. They loved it. It is pleasing to record that the ladies conducting the tasting are still delightful : friendly and informative. The wines tasted were very good.

A local pub that could be could quite a good pub but itâs certainly not a place for non smokers as the establishment seems to have a very relaxed interpretation of the smoking laws and smoke permeates the whole place.
