The upstairs restaurant offers standard South African "Spur" style fare with a Namaqualand twist with a view over the main road from the terrace. It was reasonably priced and the fish and salads were prepared just right. On hot evenings, eating on the terrace is possibly cooler than inside.

Our breakfasts were cold and we were the only ones in the restaurant. The bacon was limp (not crispy as promised as we saw it cooked in a microwave), the banana overcooked and the eggs and toast cold. At least the coffee was hot.We complained to the manager who listened and then talked to the kitchen staff. He didn't ask what he could do to improve the situation or offer a replacement meal. The owner came over a few minutes later and he was just as useless. We were presented with the bill (with no discount) and the waitress then asked if we wanted our change - as if we were going to leave a tip! I'd avoid this restaurant unless you enjoy being disappointed.Dear AndrewD,Thank you for taking the time to review our Desert Moon Spur restaurant.
