Things to do in Geneva
I want this restaurant to be good as we love sushi and are always hoping for a good option close to home. It's the only place nearby to get Sushi, but unfortunately, not great sushi overall. But the kids were hankering for sushi, so we stopped in.We ordered several things, many with issues: We had 1 of the daily special large rolls, it was good but not terribly large, a seaweed salad which seemed fresh and was good. A crab salad- which was on top of a little seaweed, had a few browning slices of avocado and the crab salad itself was more pungent than one would like and was 'dry' rather than being moist the way a crab salad should be- perhaps pre-made and sat around? Usually a crab salad arrived in a half of an avocado for a nice presentation. We also ordered Hamachi Sushi, supposed to be two pieces on balls of rice, but a very tiny 6 piece roll came out instead. The server apologized that she had entered it incorrectly and brought the right item out afterward. But even then, the slices of hamachi were minuscule, as were the balls of rice, not what is usually produced when we order this at other Sushi restaurants. The rice was nothing special and all rolls were undersized- trying to save on cost...? We had 2 other rolls that were also ok, but not great. The decor of the location is a halfhearted attempt at Japanese theme at best. I like the tree and dangling crystals when you walk in, but where we sat, in a booth with an annoying TV that has no sound at the end (each booth has a tv- is this supposed to be a sports bar?) anyway, where we sat there are 2 picture frames on the wall next to the doorway to an adjoining seating area... the ones you buy at Walmart to hold many different photos both horizontal and vertical. One frame is heart shaped and the other sort of abstract rectangle... well, the heart is turned on it's side because many of the images they put in were not upright if the heart was hung properly! So they just turned the whole thing sideways- and there are still pictures that are on their side, not upright! Same for the rectangle frame- there are images that they must have wanted in there, but they are not right for the frame, so they are just laying sideways! Looks atrocious, like they just don't care. The booths and tables could use a replacement or at least some patching. Overall, we were underwhelmed. The place was nearly empty, so the food service was not slow. But for the small product, errors on order and under-par items, it's not really worth another stop. We generally travel to Mentor, Mayfield or Erie, guess we'll have to continue to head out of town for good Sushi, unfortunate.

Just a typical Chinese restaurant, nothing to brag about but will do for the area. Our usual is the Sweet and Sour pork, fried rice and wonton soup with chips. Nothing fancy!

We have passed this restaurant for years without stopping in. We decided to give it a try last Friday. Boy, were we pleasantly pleased. The interior of the restaurant was clean and fresh, not like other Chinese restaurants. Staff was friendly, and service was very fast. The portions were huge, the price was very fair. We took enough home for another meal! We went back a couple days later for their lunch buffet. Not a large selection for lunch, but very tasty and fresh again at a very reasonable price.
