Decent, busy little place. I gathered that there were a lot of locals eating here.On the positive side: I was seated quckly despite them being fairly busy. My waitress, Jessica, was attentive. I needed a couple of minutes to look over the menu but when I was ready, I didn't have to wait long for her to come back. She was friendly yet efficient. (0n a personal note, I just now realized I stiffed you a tip. Next time i'm up that way, I will make it right). When she asked about how the meal was and I told her, she listened and was genuinely interested in the answer. The staff was all friendly and cheerful. The one problem that I overheard, was handled efficiently and professionally. Coleslaw and taters and gravy was good.On the down side: The liver and onions was a little tough and had a sharp flavor. Good liver takes patience. It wasn't horrible, but it was tougher than most I've had and the flavor was sharp. The sweet tea may have seen sugar at one time, but it wasn't sweet (especially by downhome standards). I will admit that I'm pretty particular about my liver and onions and others may enjoy it here but next time, I'm going to try something else. (They have gyros ???)Place was overall clean and inviting and there were a lot of people there.
Fingerhut Bakery is a family owned business that was established in 1946. Here at the Bass Lake location we serve breakfast and lunch alongside all of our delicious baked goodies.
Just wanted a cup of java and something to go along with it. The coffee is not as strong as I like it. But, it will do in case of emergency. The sweets are a different case. Plenty to chose from to satisfy your sweet tooth.
I had the chocolate raised glazed which was soo very good. My hubby and daughter had the raspberry danish which they said was good. All danishes and donuts are $1 but a dozen donuts are $10. Cookies were pretty pricey but we expect to pay slightly higher prices for local businesses and we are ok with that!
