Reviews on African food in Yamoussoukro, Lacs Region, Ivory Coast. Yamoussoukro was made capital of the Cote d'Ivoire in 1983 by the country’s first president, Felix Houphouet-Boigny. Although never as popular as the large coastal city of Abidjan, Houphouet-Boigny had great plans for the city of his birth. He commissioned several massive building projects, including a Presidential Palace and the Basilica of Our Lady of Peace of Yamoussoukro, a modern recreation of the Vatican’s St. Peter’s Basilica that lays claim to the title of world’s largest church.

Very pleasant to drink a Drogba sitting at La Brise terrace. It's a vented place overlooking the crocodile lake covered by water lillies.Indoor decor looks a bit quaint.La Brise is a typical and popular maquis full of regulars creating a cozy and friendly ambiance. It offers a large menu of local dishes plus pizza and some French specialties. I came for dinner with colleagues and we shared avocado shrimps salad, essential attieke and allocos, gambas skewers, braised agouti, grilled carp, fowl kedjenou, tasty dibi. We were quickly served by efficient and nice staff. We had a good time.

The kids really enjoyed the pizza there. The kedjenou and the Osso Bucco was just amazing. One of the best resto I eat so far in Côte d'Ivoire.
Ce lieu est classic, n'ouvre que dans la soirée en plein air, écran plasma et une salle de bain climat. 6,75/10
