Loro Parque is the world-famous and adored by all animal adventure park in the Canaries. Get ready for excitement and fun at this "must see" attraction..

We went on a transfer from Playa de las Americas, which doesn't take as long as they say! Fantastic park with so much to see! Highly recommend the tour that they offer you when you go in as you get to see everything behind the scenes as well such as the vets, penguins and go underneath the orca whale tank to see them! They tell you everything about the place as well and will help you to find out which order to do the shows in! Whale and dolphin shows are a must!! Food is above average but fine for snacks and drinks!

It can be difficult to wrap your head around the City of the Arts and Sciences. The attraction is a staggering ensemble of ultra-modern structures that are given an ethereal quality by the reflecting pools that surround them. The whole thing was started in the mid-90s and the finishing touches were made in 2005. Within these gargantuan buildings are cultural venues and first-class family attractions like L’Hemisfèric, a planetarium and IMAX Cinema, or the breathtaking L’Umbracle, a botanical collection of plant species native to Valencia.

It was recommended by TripAdvisor and for a very good reason: it is definitely a very nice zoo. Having seen already quite a number of zoo's, this one stands out for its very nice layout. We were there at 10 when it opens and spent a couple of hours. At opening it is nice and peaceful as it gets more busy later. This way it allows you to enjoy the animals and scenery even more.

Bioparc Valencia

BIOPARC VALENCIA is a unique zoo. Its design employs the “zooimmersion” concept, in which visitors are surrounded by meticulous recreations of the natural habitats being presented. Social animals that live together in groups are displayed, as well as groups of different species that coexist in the same habitats. Predatory species are integrated into the visual space, but are separated from other species by barriers invisible to the eye of the visitor, ensuring the safety of both the animals and the people. The animals, vegetation and landscape provide opportunities for discovering the complexity of natural ecosystems.

You can’t really call this place a zoo as it is so different to the norm. The enclosures are huge which is great. It is one of the first places I have been where the animals are so active and I think this is due to the large spaces they have. The bear enclosure is the best example of this whereby you have to really look around the whole rocky outcrop to spot them. You do need a car. I would recommend at least 5 hours. There is a place to get a bite to eat which is fine, but I would recommend taking a picnic. Also entrance prices are not cheap so check online first where you might get a better deal. It’s a great day out and worth the journey.
