Chateau Zegaani is a wine estate built in 1820 by Prince Alexander Chavchavadze, a great political and cultural figure of the 19th century, as well as the founder of Georgian viticulture. The Chateau is located in Kakhetia, the main wine-producing region of Georgia. Today it is a great historic and architectural asset for studying the development of wine-making in the region and provides evidence of the significant French influence in the process. Alexander Garsevanovich Chavchavadze built the estate in the fashion of the majority of French wine chateaux of the early 19th century upon his return from France. This is precisely why the castle in Zegaani, Kakhetia, is also referred to as Chateau.

Winery Chelti Complex was founded in 2001, which is located in Kakheti region, village of Shilda, Kvareli district. From the very beginning, the company’s goal was to produce only the premium quality products. Therefore the company began to plant own vineyards which would have given the possibility to control the quality of grapes.

Due to the current situation, we are prepared to deliver our wines to customers within Georgia as well as to selected destinations internationally. Our winery/tasting room is located in Sighnaghi. We also take this opportunity to thank the thousands of customers who have visited us over the last five years for your interest, friendship and support. We hope to see or hear from you again some day soon! Our natural wines continue to be made in qvevri by fermenting the juice of the grapes on their skins, seeds and pulp (chacha) in the 8,000+ year old Kakhetian tradition.
We passed by for a wine tasting and we were lucky enough to catch this year's wine harvest! We ended up spending a lovely evening chatting with Paul and the other visitors, learning about Georgian history, the wine culture and having the pleasure of tasting delicious wines, prepared by the traditional Georgian method (yum!) Thanks for a lovely evening to all. Helen and Thomas

I did an organic wine tour with the company 'Into the Caucasus' while in Georgia. Visiting Vellino wines and meeting the owner, Beka Jimsheladze, was not only the absolute highlight of the day, but was also one of the highlights of my trip to Georgia. So many tours are like museum audio-guides. You press the number and get the spiel. The fascinating commentary you will get from Beka could not be more different. He is truly passionate about what he does and his passion shines through. He makes his wines using the traditional Geogian methods and you will learn all about this and see some of the traditional equipment used to make the wine. He will then sit down personally and taste the wines with you. His wines are exquisite and the personal touch he gives the tour makes you feel like you are sitting with an old friend enjoying fabulous food, wine and conversation. I will definitely return on my next trip to Georgia. I could not rate this experience more highly!

A little family running winery. The owner Nika Bakhia was one of the four pioneers of the Georgian Natural Wine Movement. You can taste red and white wines from qvevri (vessels) and decide for your favourite. The high qualitied chacha might become your personal highlight of the wine tour. The gorgeous walnut tree invites into its shadow to drink and dream. 50 GEL a bottle of wine. Chacha for free.

Our hotel staff in Telavi recommended Mosmieri for a cellar tour and wine tasting. We absolutely loved our visit to this beautiful wine estate. The wine was incredible...especially the Saperavi produced in qvevri! And a special thanks to Teona, the superb somelier - who was incredibly knowledgeable, cheerful and professional.
