Having arrived in the Cortona area with very little planned I researched a few things to do. Finding this fabulous company was wonderful after emailing late (very late) on a Saturday evening Federica made everything happen seamlessly for a 10am pick up the following morning. We were met by a passionate bundle of energy called Francesco who proceeded to give us a fabulous walk through history and the process of growth and harvest on the way to our first stop. Francesco’s knowledge of the regions and the individual wines was extensive. He was and engaging and patient with our questions. Each vineyard was a contrast to the next, in regards to the process of winemaking. We were throughly relaxed and the day was full of laughter from start to finish. We truely can’t thank the team enough for giving us such a fabulous insight into the regions wines and countryside. If you’re ever in the area allow this business to look after you it is a must while in Tuscany. Ciao????

Me and three friends did TerraPura's Winetastic tour and it was incredible! Chris and Mirko took us to two distinctly diverse and unique wineries- one of the oldest Wineries run by a woman and her 2 daughters and the other set in a castle atop one of the most breathtaking views I think I have ever seen. Chris and Mirko were welcoming and very knowledgeable about the cities of Montalcino and Montepulciano- they even took us up to the top of Montalcino city hall for yet another breath taking view! Without a doubt one of my favorite days in Italy.

Away from tourist routes, from Montevarchi train station we will drive you in one of our comfortable vehicles to a quintessentially Tuscan area (it's easy to reach this train station from Florence, 35 minutes ride, and Arezzo, 25 minutes ride). We will visit medieval towns and some of the best-known boutique wineries. Those producers make up for their small production numbers by crafting superb quality wines with great passion. During the visit through the vineyards you can see where and how Sangiovese grapes grow. You will be revealed pearls of country wisdom, you will be told about the difficulties of working the land, and share stories of what it is like to produce a wine that graces tables around the world. This tour is special because it allows you to discover smaller, niche producers. My family and I first came into contact with Viaggi d'Ambra in July when I contacted them about a Chianti tour (see previous review) - we loved it so much, we didn't only book once again, but twice! My husband and I had the pleasure of a tour with Azzurra in the Montepulciano and Montalico regions in August - it was amazing! Both wineries were in lovely positions and the hosts were delightful. We also had time to explore the beautiful town of Pienza - not to be missed! After two fabulous tours, we booked to return to Tuscany in October. This time Christian took us on an amazing tour of northern Chianti. We visited the beautiful town of Greve and two fabulous wineries. Without Christian, we would never have found them and their wonderful wines! This year has all been a bit mad, but do book early for tours next year as Azzurra and Christian are fantastic people and know the area like no other. If you don't book, I can see myself taking tours with them daily - it really is such a fantastic experience and such a varied area! Grazie mille both of you!!!
