We arrived on time and although shown to our table immediately there was a distinct lack of friendliness in the welcome. The waitress who took our order seemed to be new and lacked confidence. The place was very quiet but service relatively slow. While the food was âokâ the experience was disappointing. The place has been given a facelift and was pleasant but spoilt by the cheap plastic flowers on every table. A word of advice- remove them! If you canât get real ones it would be better without any at allOverall I felt that more attention needs to be given to customer service - a welcome smile, friendly comments, a cheery goodbye (no-one was anywhere to be seen as we left) - would all cost nothing but would transform a cold hearted experience into a place I would want to return to. As it is I feel reluctant to recommend it.We were disappointed to hear of your experience with us, as we have always prided ourselves on offering each of our customers a warm inviting establishment with a friendly staff. It seems very unfortunate that you did not enjoy your time with us. However we would like to thank you for your feedback, and hope that you do decide to return and give us another chance. Thank you.

Was taken here for lunch as visiting the uni to do some external work. Lovely atmosphere and great food had the veggie risotto and it was delicious. Risotto isn't always good out but this was perfect.

Visited last week for morning coffee and cake. The scones were delicious. We were spoilt for choice with the home made cakes. They ranged from eccles cakes, scones, shortbread, victoria sponge cake. The list was endless. Very friendly and good value for money. The only drawback they don't open on a Tuesday as we found out but went back the next day and weren't disappointed. Well worth a visit

Seven of us came here in August 2019 for an evening meal towards the end of a weeks stay in Tregarth. I wished we went there sooner! Charming local pub serving excellent food at a price which doesn't leave you with indigestion! Great variety of food! I cant say no more really apart from thank you & see you again on our next trip up!Hi James, Thank you for your kind review , it was our pleasure to welcome you and your family. We look forward to seeing you again if and when you visit Wales.Best wishes

Ty Golchi is a family friendly, independently owned and run cafe, serving a wide range of freshly prepared food. With a large car park, fully disabled access and toilet facilities. We have ample outside seating and a large garden for our patrons to enjoy
Went as a couple to this café on a Monday for lunch arriving at 12 noon. We were seated immediately, and ordered pots of tea, which arrived quickly. For meals we ordered Chicken curry and my wife ordered Cajun Chicken Fillet Burger. The chicken curry was good, and the Cajun Chicken Fillet Burger was considered excellent. Service was excellent, we will return again when in the area.Entrance and is on the ground floor and is wheel chair accessible as are the toilets.

A Traditional, warm and cosy pub with fantastic views of The Menai Straits. Serving a variety of local ales as well as all your favourite beverages. Extensive homemade food menu including Welsh lamb henry and mussels sourced from The Menai Straits. Served
Came here as it was advertised as dog friendly and they are hard to come by these days. Place has a rustic look a bit tired but in-keeping with its atmosphere and style. Lovely views over Bangor marina. Staff very friendly nothing too much trouble, made fuss of our attention seeking french bulldog Alfie. Prices very reasonable and the meals were of better than average pub grub quality. We would come here again and recommend. Hi there, thank you for your lovely review! We're proud to welcome our canine friends into the establishment- Alfie was certainly worthy of the fuss! I'm glad you had an enjoyable dining experience, and look forward to welcoming you back. Best wishes!

Just killing time in Bangor for afternoon, town a bit grim but this little cafe is a hidden gem! Having walked up and down the main high street spotted this cafe down a side street. Casual cafe, good service, welcoming staff freshly cooked meals and good coffee. Had homemade quiche of the day with a fresh salad. All delicious and swift service. Reasonably priced too. Casual menu with breakfast/brunch, sandwiches, burgers and salads, afternoon teas and tapas. All looked good.

So,,, we are staying in Rhosneigr (Anglesey) in a beautiful house with superb sea views. Today (Tuesday) we didn't fancy another day on the beach (strange you can say that with a British summer but the weather has been very good!), so we decided to visit Bangor on the mainland. We had seen lots of good things about Whistlestop - their flyers, their promo cards and reviews in the holiday information left at the holiday house. The place is about 40 minutes travelling from the west coast of Anglesey to Bangor, but hey ! who cares? we're going to chow down on local welsh produce, try 'scuffins' and all the reviews are great! What can possibly go wrong?Well, they were closed! Nothing in any of the advertising about being closed on Tuesdays, in the height of the holiday season! Now I'm sure the food is great but an eighty minute round trip to walk along a dingy pier thinking how nice it might have been is not the best day out!Whistlestop owners - PLEASE sort out your opening times in your advertising!!!!!!!!It's a sod's law story I'm afraid you happened to decide to visit the very day we decided to change our opening hours we made the change on trip advisor and Facebook at 11 am last Tuesday Please accept our apologies for your inconvenience we always advise customers to give us a call anyway the number is on our trip advisor and face book site and it's my number so please give me a call and I'll make sure you're ok next time

We dined here with friends. The evening began with cocktails in the lounge whilst we perused the menu. Cocktails are priced under £10. Lots of local and national produce available. I opted for the Welsh gin and was not disappointed. We had a three course dinner, which included an amuse-bouche and sorbet course but coffee was extra. The Welsh lamb comes highly recommended and the desserts are delicious. Good wine list, with prices from £20 upwards. Staff very attentive throughout. The meal cost £300 for the four of us.
