From the rare truffles of the Drôme to the vineyards of Beaujolais, the Rhone-Alps reveal the treasures of French cuisine. Gastronomic pleasures are complemented by the lush countryside, filled with fields of lavender. UNESCO-designated Lyon has first-century Roman ruins and the 19th-century Basilica of Fourvière. Forts and castles dot the landscape around Grenoble. Work off excess calories on the slopes of Chamonix and Megève. Visit during fall to take advantage of the grape harvest and many festivals.

Easily accessed these falls can be seen from the road. Parking is plentiful and free and a lovely coffee stop right across the road too. Well worth a stop off

A great opportunity to get up close and behind a waterfall. We walked from Menthon-Saint-Bernard and took the route to the waterfall from Talloires via Route du Vivier. It’s quite a steep walk and is very slippery close to the waterfalls. Advisable to hold onto the hand rails and wear appropriate walking/hiking shoes. We arrived at 1pm on a hot day and it wasn’t crowded at all. Recommend doing this hike.
