New York’s Finger Lakes region takes its name from 11 freshwater lakes placed like a handprint between Lake Ontario and the Pennsylvania border. Skiing, hiking and biking trails traverse the landscape; visitors can also indulge in various wine, cheese and beer trails. The area offers a culinary bounty, with an emphasis on farm-to-table cuisine. Rich history and culture are found throughout the region, with one attraction more inviting than the next.

Huge waterfall. Trails were well groomed and not a difficult hike to get to the falls. The main trail to the falls is less than a mile and empties on top of the falls. One section of the trail is under construction. Lots of places for people to spread out and enjoy the water. A great way to cool off on a hot day with small kids.

My brother and I had visited Montour Falls quicly on a day trip in January 2019 and it was frozen and absolutely beautiful and stunningly visible from the moment we turned onto Main St. We subsequently visited the area and stopped by in the summer. Not so impressive with little to no water. The best time to visit is in the winter. Don't forget to eat at Paradiso's Village Bakery in town. Delicious!

Kind of out of the way...but worth the effort. This short hike has some nice waterfalls and a beautiful ravine. Comfort facilities at the beginning of trail. Uneven surfaces makes the hike more challenging for some. Highly recommend!

Driving through Ithaca to another falls area and we crossed a bridge only to see these beautiful falls on one side! Nearby parking allows for a view from the street and a short walk down a gravel like path takes you right to the falls! The water falls were flowing but the water level was low so you could easily explore the rocky banks of the river! Semi crowded but most people were wearing masks and keeping distance so I would recommend stopping by!

This is a small "out of the way" attraction. There was only one other person in the park when we arrived. He was helpful and gave us directions. We just walked into the park, they don't charge admission. We could hear the thundering sound of falling water from the Falls to our right. The Falls are small but oh so pretty. We spotted a Mallard feeding at the top of the Falls and a Great Blue Heron standing atop the rocks. Being a photographer I was thrilled. You can use the trails to go to the left or below the Falls. The climb down is steep and the one to the left was too muddy to use at this time. This is a lovely quiet spot to bring a family since they provide picnic facilities and some playground equipment I really enjoyed it!

A very nice place to visit. A short walk along a trail takes you to a beautiful waterfall. Go early in the morning to beat the crowds that will go swimming there and ruin the view.

We went to Tinkerbell Falls first. Very easy walk to falls and pretty flat. Next we decided to climb, and this is steep, to top of hill. This is where the hang gliders take off from and is worth the climb. The view is pretty awesome..it overlooks a very large pond/lake. We did the hike with 2 dogs and we're in our 60's. There wete people with lots of dogs and kids. It looks intimidating...just take your time.
