Guided tour of the roman Villa Romana del Casale in Piazza Armerina town in Sicily, one of the most precious jewels left by the Roman civilization in Sicily. The villa, built in the III-IV a.d. it probably belonged to Valerio Massimiano, a powerful patrician of the empire. Since 1997 it has become a UNESCO world heritage, especially for the beauty of its mosaics, famous all over the world. The domus with its 48 rooms is built around the quadrangular peristyle which is accessed from the vestibule. The peristyle floor is entirely mosaic with drawings of European and African animals while the garden is enriched by a large fountain composed of three pools, covered in marble on the outside and in mosaic inside. Tour included the visit of the room with the ten girls in bikinis portrayed in various sports: throwing the disc, playing with the ball, exercises with weights and cross country and, later, the Basilica with the polychrome marble floors

The Villa Romana del Casale in Piazza Armerina is considered to be one of the most important exemplars of an official governmental residence, attributed to the elaboration and exceptional beauty of its architectonic and decorative elements. Dated back to 320-350 A.D., the villa most likely belonged to a member of Rome’s senatorial class, probably a governor of the Eternal City itself. On board of a Piaggio TriVespa you will visit Caltagirone a little town full of swirling patterns, vibrant colours, painstakingly detailed designs: wherever you go in Caltagirone this is what you will see! The highlight is undoubtedly the 142 steps of the Scalinata di Santa Maria del Monte. Here you will also taste typical Sicilian food (arancino and cannolo).

We wished we could see Pope Francis but we could never expected we could see him so closely thanks to Rossana great effort. Rossana and our driver Luigi are both great persons and the visit to the Pope very well organized. They both were professional, supportive, engaging and very helpful. Rossana took really a great effort to make the visit tailored to our needs and she had great sense of humour. Big thanks to R and L. We would highly recommend this tour.
Assisi, the birthplace of St. Francis, has many sites relating to the life of the Saint which can be visited. The city’s masterpiece, the Basilica of St. Francis is important both from a religious and artistic perspective. Move on to San Giovanni Rotondo, located in the south of Italy which is the second most visited Catholic Shrine in the world. Saint Padre Pio was a Capuchin Friar, priest and mystic known for his devotion to God, care for the sick and supernatural gifts. He died in 1968 and was declared a Saint in 2002. Bari, cultural crossroads since ancient times, is an ideal starting point, a city where two souls meet, the old town and the modern town. A wonderful example of Apulian Romanesque architecture is the imposing Basilica di San Nicola (Saint Nicholas's Basilica), where the holy relics of the famous saint are kept.

Perfect day in Palermo with our guide Saro. He was so attentive to helping us find our meeting point with frequent communications. He kept us connected and before and after our day together. Saro tailored the day to our personal interests and gave us plenty time to linger as we wished in any particular location. We would never have had such a memorable trip without his expertise.
