San Giovanni Rotondo is famous for his work in the city of St. Pius (known as Padre Pio) of Pietrelcina, and the city where the venerated monk worked his miracles. Pio was beatified in 2002. In the Capuchin Monastery Padre Pio received the stigmata in 1918, and where all those supernatural events led to his sainthood and canonization took place as well. Visiting this monastery and visiting the chambers where St. Pius conducted his life means jumping into a context of spirituality and mysticism; it is a destination The Church's crypt also hosted, up until a few years ago, the tomb of St. Pio. Next to the Monastery rises the Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie. We wished we could see Pope Francis but we could never expected we could see him so closely thanks to Rossana great effort. Rossana and our driver Luigi are both great persons and the visit to the Pope very well organized. They both were professional, supportive, engaging and very helpful. Rossana took really a great effort to make the visit tailored to our needs and she had great sense of humour. Big thanks to R and L. We would highly recommend this tour.

Just 10 km from the Umbra forest, in the heart of the Gargano, stands Vico del Gargano, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. The guided tour will make you discover the two districts Civita and Casale and the main places of interest such as the church Matrice with its bell tower and, inside the altar dedicated to St. Valentine, patron saint of the town. The historic center still partially retains its walls which have become, in part, houses. After a few steps you will reach the castle of quadrangular form, probably Norman edification, has undergone changes already under Frederick II who converted it into Domus and then, later, occupied by the Aragonese. The tour continues with the external visit of Palazzo della Bella, designed on the model of Palazzo Vecchio in Florence, a neo-Gothic current. The tour ends with a visit to the Museo Trappeto Maratea, an ancient olive oil mill from the 14th century carved into the rock.

The tour itinerary will unite the most significant places: the "ancient" church, the "new" church, both dedicated to Santa Maria delle Grazie, the Monastery and the new sanctuary. The ancient church of the mid-1500s has a very simple façade and inside it is composed of a single baroque style nave. At a second entrance to the convent is the cell of Padre Pio and the crypt where the body of Padre Pio was housed before being transferred to the nearby sanctuary. The visit continues with the "new" church, built for the explicit desire of Padre Pio, with the intention of being able to accommodate in an appropriate manner the considerable flow of thousands of pilgrims that flowed ever more numerous to San Giovanni Rotondo. The tour ends at the Sanctuary, designed by architect Renzo Piano, one of the largest churches in Italy, capable of holding up to 7,000 people.

The trekking route with a licensed guide will take you to the Abbey of the Holy Trinity starting from Monte Sacro Farmhouse, here after a few steps begins a dirt track that climbs Mount Sacro on routes made by shepherds with flocks of sheep, until you get there on the top. The path that leads to the mountain, about 40 minutes, is characterized by a first phase on a steep slope and certainly not easy, until arriving in a flat area where the abbey was built. The abbey of S.S. Trinity is of Gothic construction, was built around the year one thousand and abandoned in the fifteenth century. A long phase of degradation followed, which brought the structure into a state of ruin but which still hides a remarkable charm. You can still admire the walls, the columns with the capitals, the entrance portals, the abbey church with the bell tower, the dormitory cells, the baptistery, the refectory with the kitchen, the cisterns, the cloister, the courtyard, the warehouses, stables and lookout tower.
