The largest artificial lake in Europe is the host of this tour where the fantastic sunset dazzles us and then gives a wonderful night sky. The monitors who guide the route are people born and raised in the region, who lived the entire process of building the Alqueva dam, knowing and making known its impact on the region. The Dark Sky Alqueva Reserve is a unique sky discovery territory ... Over 260 days a year of clear skies, with a minimum level of light pollution, allow us to enjoy a unique star-gazing experience with the naked eye. . Between stories told, with a unique landscape, we reach the end of the trail where an invigorating picnic with traditional Alentejo products awaits us. Around the fire we will have the chance to taste red wine, a hot tea in the coals, a paio and a cheese accompanied by the unparalleled Alentejo bread. The stories follow under the starry cloak of the Dark Sky Alqueva reserve.

Inclusions: The tour includes a picnic with regional Alentejo products.

We visited the Alqueva lake in October 2020 to go night kayaking. Being the only visitors on that particular day, and probably the last of the season, we had the pleasure of having Francisco as a private tour guide on the lake. The experience was amazing and the night sky was spectacular! Compliments to Francisco - he is very knowledgable on the history of the lake and the broader region. We definitely recommend visiting the lake and this activity especially.

We hired Diane for a 3 hour tour. She picked us up at our hotel and was full of information about historical events & current Portuguese life. She kept us entertained with her enthusiasm and broad wealth of knowledge. As a PhD candidate she has a curiosity that covers many disciplines and loved questions. We managed to see all the main sights, plus had the advantage of cutting a very long line for the Chapel of Bones. Diane provides enough historical background that we were able to see the care put into this chapel, not just a curiosity. Great morning and would HIGHLY recommend Diane. We learned more today about Portugal as a country today than we did on the rest of our 12 day trip (and we took 5 tours previously, which we considered good). This is excellent.

The passion we feel for the city allows us to put together more than 45 stories that happened here. Stories about hate and love, courage and skill, friendship and family. Tales about our city that made it as it is today. Curiosities of the ancient everyday life, that became a tradition. Legends that became real. Stories about the most common mortals to the most important personalities in Portuguese history. Évora has been one of the most important cities of Portugal, coveted by other nations. We will unveil the most interesting mysteries that are not told in a typical Évora city tour. Let’s walk the streets while we capture the city’s beauty. We’ll stop at some places to tell you what happened there, or what connection that site has with the story that we want you to know. We may or may not enter the most well-known monuments; we do not have a scripted tour. We want you to enjoy the city while you get to know it in a more profound way. This is a unique, relaxed and unforgettable way to visit Évora, the city where the stones breed history.

I didn't know about this tour. When I arrived in Evora I went to take a coffee in a cafeteria in front of Praça do Giraldo. When I went out I saw Sandra and a group of people and she welcome me too. When she start to talk she never stop, she really love her city and want to engage all the people. I really like the walking tour. I suggest her to everyone that want to discover the real Evora. Thanks Sandra

We enjoyed a wonderful, relaxing trek through the cork forest. Don't go expecting diverse scenery or an abundance of wildlife. This is a simple walk through nature, brought alive by our knowledgeable guide, José. What he doesn't know about the simple cork isn't worth knowing! This was followed by a sampling of their delightful wines. Their 2019 field blend is a stonker. Give the pool or vineyards a break and give this a go.
