The Pearl of the Mediterranean has an ambiance more in keeping with its neighbors to the north than with those in the Middle East. Site of Pharos lighthouse, one of the Wonders of the World, and of Anthony and Cleopatra’s tempestuous romance, the city was founded by Alexander the Great in 331 BCE. Today, Alexandria offers fascinating insights into its proud Greek past, as well as interesting mosques, the casino strip of the Corniche, some lovely gardens and both modern and traditional hotels. We mostly know Cairo for Pyramids and Sphinx but this time we wanted to do something different. That’s why we chosen to see Coptic and Islamic Cairo. The plan was achieved with beautiful Manar! And we really thank her for introducing us to a new face of Cairo we did not know. The extra bonus is that Manar studies sightseeing and history and know some things that others can skip. Great 1,5 days together!

The best part of my tour was my guide, Yasser. He is clearly very experienced and knowledgeable and made the whole tour a really memorable experience for me. He took a lot of photos at the pyramids and the Great Sphinx, explained the history behind each monument in great detail, and answered all of my questions fully and satisfactorily. I thoroughly enjoyed his company, his knowledge of Egyptian history, and his kind and compassionate demeanor. Overall, I made lifetime memories on this tour and all the credit goes to Yasser. I highly recommend this tour and Yasser as your guide!
