The very knowledgeable lady on the staff at the info centre gave us a short talk on the history of Kapunda, and after directing us to the basement exhibition, which was one of the best I've seen, then recommended to take the mine trail around town. Even the old and well preserved places between those on the map were interesting to see why this town is so proud of its heritage. A must visit for anyone staying or passing throughthe region. Only about 20 km leisurely drive out from the Barossa.

You could walk through the Time tunnel in 10 minutes or spend up to 5 hours exploring to find out where the dinosaurs first roamed this land. Be introduced to the people who first owned, explored and settled the region along with those who live there today. The Centre"s cafe, the Outback Tuckerbox has a great selection of meals, cakes and coffee. Staff at the accredited Visitor Information Centre can assist with accommodation, tours and can supply all the information you need for your stay in our Region and for your trip ahead. The gift shop has a great range of souvenirs.
This is a great way of spending a few hours or a day meandering through the many different exhibitions. Allow for several hours if you want to sit and listen to all the stories as some go for over an hour. Don't worry if you don't get the chance to see everything they will give you a "pass out" to use within 12 months.

The staff at the Berri Visitor Information Centre were extremely helpful, friendly and very knowledgeable about not only Berri but the Riverland in general. In the spacious contemporary designed building on the banks of the Murray River, there is a wealth of information, local art and crafts and local produce with general travel information as well. Armed with pamphlets and a marked map, we went to the café next door for a coffee to plan our next spot to visit in Berri. The views of the Murray from the rear of the centre backing onto the river are superb and definitely not to be missed. A walking trail passes between the centre and the Murray. Return? When in Berri next, yes will be the first port of call to obtain updated and current tourist information.
