I work on the HPC project and wanted to take my family to see the site. The tour was very well organised and a brilliant way to view the amazing scale of the project. Highly recommend that everyone goes to see the biggest construction project in Europe - happening right here in Somerset!!

Bridgwater Carnival Centre

The Bridgwater Carnival Centre is the home to one of Europe's largest annual illuminated carnival processions - Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival. Visitors to the centre are able to obtain information about this year's event, look at carnival memorabilia and photos from years gone by, and purchase official merchandise. Opening hours vary depending on the season and volunteer availability.

I found this by chance and was impressive by the lay out and contents. There are photos of those taking part in the famous carnival going back to the 1890's and huge colour photos of more recent carnivals. There are stickers and brochures available and staff on hand to help with any enquiries.

Weston-super-Mare Visitor Information Centre

Open 7 days a week from April to September, closed in the winter but available for telephone advice, the Weston-super-Mare Visitor Information Centre offers a one-stop-shop for travel information. Maps, brochures, bus timetables and itineraries are all on offer. Staffed by skilled and knowledgeable locals, the VIC offers a free booking service for accommodation, a great selection of souvenirs and provides advice on the things to see, things to do and where to eat in Weston-super-Mare. Discuss with the friendly staff your travel plans and they will be happy to offer their assistance and advice. The centre is located in The Tropicana, an inconic art deco building half way down the beach walking south from the town centre. We also offer free use of a special beach-going wheelchair and will look after your regular wheelchair while you are on the beach. Our website and Facebook page, VisitWeston, give listings of events happening in Weston-super-Mare and the surrounding area.
