Maryland is known as “America in Miniature” because of its great variations in topography and culture. This makes it a perfect east coat travel destination for those who would like to experience a little bit of everything. From amusement parks, to beaches, to mountains and historical sites, there is plenty to see and do. Each region of Maryland provides its own unique and fun activities to do. If you're headed for some fun in the sun in Ocean City on its eastern coast, be sure not to miss the Ocean City Beach, the Boardwalk, or Trimper's Rides and Amusement Park for an all-ages fun experience. Central Maryland is home to a Six Flags theme park, the Annapolis Golf Club, and countless hubs of art and culture such as the African Art Museum and Annapolis Opera, Inc. Heading to western Maryland? It is perfect for lovers of nature and the outdoors, with the Washington Monument State Park, Wisp Resort ski slopes, and the spectacular Muddy Creek Falls.

We stopped by to get a recommendation for dinner from a local expert. The visitors center had some great museum level exhibits of Frederick along with lots of information on the city and surrounding area. We were also recommended to visit the Market and Patrick streets area for some of Frederick’s great restaurants.

Plan your next Maryland trip, get directions, and see beautiful Maryland displays at this wonderful Welcome Center. Pet area, picnic tables, restrooms, vending machines, and bus parking.
This is a very nice rest area for daytime use only- looks like they lock the lot at night. The location of this rest area on the 301 corridor is ideal, and it has a park like setting- complete with places to eat outside and walk your pups. This would be an excellent location for an electric vehicle charging station! The MD rest area down by the soon to be retired Nice Bridge has Chargepoint units. Very helpful... Thank you for being open during the pandemic. ????

A great rainy-day attraction near Wallops Island, the center conducts launches of its model rockets.
We were headed north from DC to Baltimore and noticed this was on the way and decided to stop. We were glad we did, as it’s a nice visitor center with super friendly staff. It’s not very big but is free and has some great displays. I wish they would let you visit more of Goddard than just the visitor center.
