I would recommend coming here during winter to enjoy the sunset view of the Yokohama Skyline with Mt Fuji. It’s very beautiful! But it can be a bit windy.

《ODAWARA-JUKU NARIWAI Rest House》 Originally a fishing net wholesale shop built in 1932(Showa 7),this facility opened as a "rest house" for citizens and tourists in September, 2001(September of Heisei 13) after being renovated and repaired. Visitors can use the rest house as a place of relaxation and a presentation room for citizens’ activities. Please feel free to drop in. ○Opening Hour:Tourist information, Rest House(1st floor) 10:00-19:00(April to October) 10:00-18:00(November to March) ○Open throughout the year ○No charge 【About the house】 The house was rebuilt in 1932(Syowa 7) from an old one which was badly damaged by the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923(Taisho 12). It represents a typical Odawara merchant’s house using a style of architecture originating in the Edo period, “Dashi Geta Tsukuri”. The front of the second floor has bay windows with lattice re-creating the unique traditional atmosphere of an old Japanese inn. This is a precious house, with its characteristic internal design and open, western-style construction(for earthquake proofing) particularly on the second floor, and it gives visitors an impression of what Odawara was like in by-gone days. 【Dashi Geta Tsukuri】 This is typical of architecture of the traditional merchant’s house carried on since the Edo period. The front of the house has eaves and roof set on thick beams. ◇Tourist Information, Rest House 1st floor, 25㎡ of tatami-mat This is a free rest space. Tea is served for free, too. You can get brochures of the city’s tourist spots including MACHIKADO Museums. Please feel free to stop by. ◇Event Space, Western Style 2nd floor, 45㎡ You can use this space for various types of events, which local people and tourists can join.(Not air-conditioned) For those who wish to use the Event Space, you need to book beforehand at the NARIWAI Rest House.
