At the european crossroads of the Ways to Compostelle, the former Franciscan convent is now a haven of peace, knowledge and art in the heart of the Basque country, in Lower Navarre. Visitors will enjoy its park, an outstanding garden, exhibitions, audiovisual installations, a giant fresco, an auditorium, the cloister and works of art, all at the center of an extensive network of footpaths.

I showed up in Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port with no accommodations and very little plans for my Camino (just a 6 week window to get from SJPdP to SDC). The volunteers here helped find me accommodations for the night and suggestions for the next day, as there had been a large wave of pilgrims return to SJPdP that morning due to bad weather. SO thankful for these wonderful volunteers!
